Ahhh, see that last part of that sentence, the part where it says "...the good blogging"? Yeah, I remember when Wordpress was about the bloggers. Pepperidge Farms remembers too!

Please excuse me as I stomp off and sulk in the corner...

Another Thanksgiving rolls around and I have a LOT to be thankful. Just let me say, make a conscious decision each week to be thank...
I've always used Blogger, purely as it (still) seems the easiest/quickest to post my bookish thoughts. What is Wordpress like?
ReplyDeleteWhen I started, wordpress and blogger were almost identical, except wordpress added a social media side by having "likes" and really, really good notification system of new likes and comments. That's why I chose WP over blogger when I left booklikes in '17. (I'd been crossposting since '13, but not socially active on WP).
DeleteNow? It is vastly different. WP has moved to this "block editor" thing that is not a wysiwyg editor at all. Took me a solid month of practice and pain and turmoil to learn the new way of writing on wordpress. Now I don't even give it a second thought. But it isn't intuitive like blogger (ie, a flipping word processor) and I feel that is hurting them long term.
But since blogging is my online social, having the notifications makes all the difference in the world. And despite my complaints, it's still enough to keep drawing me back.
