Genre:

Pages: 24

Much, much better! After the disaster that was the previous issue where Aragones let his personal politics do the talking, this was a return to form. And it was a good return to form no less.
The story centers around the Minstrel telling an earlier story of Groo being a soldier on a mission and how he messes things up in a way only Groo could do.
What made this particularly amusing was that the story was told in 3 parts and at each part, the Minstrel realizes (always too late) that he’s telling the tale to the people who lost out in the tale. The story ends with the entire kingdom angry at the Minstrel and chasing him out, much like they do Groo in other issues :-D
Once again, I am showcasing the opening
double page. 56 issues in to the series and Aragones STILL amazes me
with the level of detail he puts into his work. This is a town faire
and man, it feels like it. You have the maypole, the dragon jester,
the various big headed costumed men, the clown on stilts, there is
even a boy with one of those super annoying wooden toys that you spin
around and it makes a clacking noise. And so much more. It is
wonderful to see an artist giving it his all.
